World Famous Lobster Suppers
Mothers Day - Thanksgiving 2010
Starting on Mother's Day - May 9th, 2010, we are open Saturday's and Sunday's in May. From June 2 - Oct. 10, we are open every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. (Please note that on Saturday's we will only take tables from 4;00 - 7:00 pm) Reservations are recommended by calling 902-857-9555
The Shore Club’s “World Famous” lobster suppers all began on August 5th, 1936 when Guy Harnish was approached by the National Gyro Convention to cook up a feed of lobsters on Hubbards Beach. Guy was a dairy farmer, but he had a large copper pot (from the U.S. frigate Chesapeake) which he shined up for the occassion. The lobster supper was a great success, and soon other groups followed. In 1946, Guy's son Roy Harnish built the Shore Club so that the Lobster Suppers could be held indoors. Since then, The Shore Club has served more than one million lobster suppers to people from all over the world. Among those to sample the famous Shore Club lobsters were Prince Charles and Lady Diana in 1983.
With a fresh caught Atlantic lobster as its centerpiece, this fabulous Maritime dining experience draws crowds from all over from Mother’s Day in May through to Thanksgiving weekend in early October.
